Introduction
When we’re fascinated by remote control devices but lack proper guidance we can’t operate them. Isn’t it making us anxious?
Without the proper programming guidance, we can’t operate the Spektrum DX8. Worry less we’re here.
Want to know the Spektrum DX8 programming guide?
There’re a few steps to follow to connect the radio control and the desired device. First, we need to set model memory. After that, we need to determine the model type and model name. Wing type selection will come next. There is a servo setup, dual rates and exponential, and some other steps.
Here we got to know just the process name. To know those processes entirely here’s a detailed article.
Let’s start!
Spektrum DX8 Programming Guide
Not happy with Spektrum DX6e and its problems? Let’s try Spektrum DX8.
The Spektrum DX8 installation process is very easy yet needs clear instruction. Let’s dig together.
Step 1: Model Memory Selection
We are starting with the model programming installation. We can access it in 2 ways. The first one is System Setup mode. The second one is Direct access.
We can insert direct access when the primary display or a telemetry screen is visible.
“Clear” and “Back” options on the screen are to activate the “Model Select Screen.”
We need to select the mode a little fast. Because the options are visible only for 10 seconds. Now turn the roller to emphasize the preferred model, then click the roller.
Step 2: Model Type Selection
While turning on the transmitter, click and wait for the roller. Release the roller when System Setup visible on the display. The DX8 has entered System Setup Mode.
Now select Model Highlight Type. To access the function, press the roller.
Select the desired model type by highlighting it and pressing the roller. Now, to accept the model type, press YES.
Step 3: Model Name
We can name a model with up to 10 characters using the Model Name function. The model name appears on both the main screen and the Model Select screen.
For using the Model Name Function, select Model Name in the System Setup list. Then click the roller to get the operation.
Select the desired character and then press the roller to gain access. Rotate the roller to choose the character, then press it to accept. Repeat until finished.
The selected character is removed when you press the CLEAR button.
Step 4: Wing Type Selection
To gain access to the Wing Type function. Move the roller to select Wing Type in the System Setup list, then click the roller.
We have to select the normal wing type, then click the roller. Click Dual Aileron then check the roller to function.
Step 5: Servo Setup
After getting the servo, the first thing we can do is to make your servo waterproof. To make it waterproof we’ll need an O-ring. Here are some recommended

Product 2 |
To obtain the Servo Setup screens, emphasize Servo Setup, then click the roller.
To emphasize the channel, turn the roller. To gain connectivity, press the roller. To pick an alternative, turn the roller. Accept the option.
Select REV or NOR by selecting the controller. Spin the roller to emphasize the channel before pressing it. Continue the cycle until all required channels have been reversed.
Highlight Travel in the Travel screen, then click the roller. Now, flip the roller until Sub-Trim shows up, and activate the SubTrim feature.
To get the Sub-Trim Value, emphasize the desired at the bottom of the display, then click the controller.
To allow entry to the Travel function, rotate the controller to emphasize Opposite in the Reversing display, then press the roller.
Twist the roller until the word “Travel” appears. Go to the Travel command by pressing the controller.
Highlight the channel and then click the roller. Pick the channel to be adjusted, then click it to accept it.
We can individually modify the direction of movement by moving the stick or switching to the required location.
Spin the controller while the optimal response(s) is emphasized to change the travel value for the selected channel. Then select the controller.
Step 6: Determine Dual Rates And Exponential
Highlight D/R and Expo. Then navigate to the D/R and Expo screens. Emphasize the channel command, then click it to select it.
Then go to the aileron, elevator, or rudder channel. Then press the controller.
Go to the SW at the bottom of the display, then press the controller. Select the desired switch, then activate it.
Step 7: Throttle Cut
Highlight Throttle Cut. Press the controller. To go to the Inhibit, use the controller.
Step 8: Throttle Curve Selection
Select Throttle Curve. To access the Throttle Curve screen, press the roller.
Emphasize “Inhibit” to access the switch options, and press the roller. To go between throttle curves, click on the preferred option.
Go to one of the five throttle curve values present. Press the controller. Balance the preferred point to the desired result by rotating the roller.
Take note of the place on the graph. Repeat for each desired point.
Emphasize EXPO. To disable or activate the Expo function, select Inh or Act.
Step 9: Differential
We can set upto three Differentials. There’s a positive and a negative differential.
Highlight Differential in the Function List, then press the roller. To change the value, rotate the roller and then press it. Repeat as needed.
Step 10: Setting Up a Timer Activated by Throttle Position
To reset the timer, go to the main screen and press the Clear button. Highlight the Timer in the Function List. Press the roller.
To choose a timer mode, select Inhibit, Countdown, or Stopwatch.
Go to the Mode function, then select the controller. Select Inhibit, Countdown, or Stopwatch by rotating the roller. After selecting the desired timer mode, press the roller.
Move the roller to select Start, then press the controller.
The timer begins when we move the throttle above the pre-programmed position. When we lower the throttle below the programmed state, the timer pauses and resumes. This is when we raise it above that position.
Pos can be highlighted by rotating the roller. To get the Stick values, select the controller. We can adjust the result from 0% to 100% and corresponds to the actual throttle stick position.
Select the preferred Stick value by moving the controller, then press the controller to get that.
To select the type of warning, highlight Tone and then press the roller. Get Inhibit, Tone, Vibe, or Tone and Vibe by rotating the roller.
FAQs
How to choose D/R and exposure values?
Move the controller to get the D/R or Expo values. Then click it to get those values. Both values are highlighted when we center the corresponding channel’s control stick. When we move the control stick to its endpoint, one value is highlighted. This allows us to change the D/R or Expo value.
How to adjust a switch position?
First Select a Switch Position to change the Pos to one of its 3 states. Change the switch at the bottom of the display. When we make D/R or Exposure balance, the values are assigned and become active when the switch is in that state. This is how we can adjust the switch position.
How to make a switch in Spektrum DX8?
In Spektrum DX8, to access the switch options, first, move the controller to emphasize SW. We will get it at the last of the display. Then we need to select the controller. Now move the controller to select the desired switch. Then press it to activate it. And the job is done!
